Monsanto in Epic Fail with attempted attack on Global Glyphosate Study

Monsanto’s Mr. Partridge continued by telling the Guardian; “All the research to date has demonstrated that there is no link between glyphosate and cancer.” Does this not seem to be a bit off topic Mr. Partridge? There is no suggestion in the short-term studies, which he was being asked about, that glyphosate is linked to cancer.

Philippines Supreme Court ban on GMOs a “major setback” for the GM industry
The Supreme Court of the Philippines has ordered a permanent ban on field trials of GM eggplant and a temporary halt on approving applications for the “contained use, import, commercialisation and propagation” of GM crops, including the import of GM products. The court ruled in favour of Greenpeace Southeast Asia and fellow campaigners in a major victory for Filipino farmers and activists. Virginia Benosa-Llorin, Ecological Agriculture Campaigner for Greenpeace Philippines, called the ruling “a major setback for the GE industry”. It will affect GM golden rice, which is currently back at the R&D stage after proving a disappointment in field trials.

‘Monsanto and Scotts have begun testing the first genetically engineered (GE) grass, intended for both consumer and commercial use.
Scotts Roundup-Ready Kentucky Bluegrass, genetically engineered to withstand massive amounts of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide, is unregulated, will not be labeled “GMO” (genetically modified organisms), and because of the ease with which grass spreads, could in short order contaminate lawns, parks, golf courses and pastures everywhere.

European Parliament Proposals for Tighter GM Regulations Progress of Regress?
- Szczegóły
- Opublikowano: czwartek, 11, październik 2012 19:26
On 5 July 2011, the European parliament backed plans to let member states choose whether or not to ban the cultivation of GM crops on their territory. A decision which has been widely greeted as a victory for ant-GMO NGO's. However, a more careful assessment throws doubt on the validity of this reaction, and it is our view that an opportunity was missed to to call for a complete prohibition of all GM crops.
The EU parliament proposals show improvements on the EU Commission's original proposals which excluded both environmental and health concerns from its list of what would be deemed legally acceptable criteria for a member state to block the import of GM crops. Under the European Parliament's latest proposal, environmental considerations are now included, however 'health' is still not on the agenda. There also appears to be a tightening of financial liability on the perpetrator of any cross contamination with organic or non GM crops under the EU parliament proposals.

Dear Friends,
Thanks to your superb support, which, in combination with Polish efforts, led to more than 40 parliamentarians raising critical questions about the planned new GMO Act during the parliamentary reading and debate on 16th December. This was enough to force the debate to be prolonged into February 2010. At that point it will have to go through both the agricultural and environment committees, both of which will have to ratify the act for it to become law.

So congratulations to Grupa Artystyczna Zawleczka www.zawleczka.com.pl for coming up with a design which will be instantly recognisable anywhere in the world.
!!!!Why not spread it around as far and wide as possible, over the internet, as a poster, flyer or however you feel inclined to use it. But please add a note: "The winner of ICPPC's 'Best Anti GMO Poster' competition launched in Poland www.gmo.icppc.pl ; The author: Grupa Artystyczna Zawleczka www.zawleczka.com.pl"
We urgently need to make others aware that by using or accepting GMO we are putting our heads - and the heads of future generations - in a noose.
